Tim Warner has taken an important new position as Chief Engagement and Partnership Officer at Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). We are grateful to Tim for his extraordinary contributions to making Montgomery County a more just place to live, work, raise children, and grow old with dignity, and we look forward to working with him and MCPS for an even better future for all of our residents.

 

As you might imagine, it will take two people to fill Tim Warner's shoes. We have posted two half-time jobs -- Community Liaison for African American Community and Community Liaison for Faith Community. Please share this information. The application deadline is October 4, 2012.

Fun for the Whole Family!

 Free Admission and plenty of free parking nearby  

For "Fun for the Whole Family," be in downtown Wheaton on Sunday October 21 from noon to 5 p.m. for the World of Montgomery Festival. People have come to Montgomery County from every corner of the globe. Celebrate multicultural Montgomery and learn about the cultures our neighbors have brought here that so enrich our community. Tour the International Village produced by the KID Museum and featuring China, El Salvador, Ethiopia, and India. Music and entertainment from across the globe. International crafts from the Fenton Street Market. Fabulous food and chefs from around the world. A Pupusa Cook-Off organized by LEDC (Latino Economic Development Corporation). International Youth Film Festival. Crafts and community service projects for kids.

  

The World of Montgomery Festival will be held in the Wheaton Triangle at Grandview Avenue and Reedie Drive, one block from the Wheaton METRO station at 2424 Reedie Drive. Free admission and there will be plenty of free parking nearby.
