                      | Staycation to India this July19th

As I type, we are tracking the last few days of our sea shipment from India. I can't say at this moment when all these goodies will arrive in the store-- but it will be SOON!  We will be unloading antique painted furniture and gorgeous old boxes, stacks of wooden bowls, folk toys, singing bowls from the Tibetan Children's Village, various kinds of journals...  you'll want to get in here and see these wonderful things before they are gone!

And-- next Sunday is our second Staycation Sunday!
 Sunday, July 19 from 1-4pm

Don't miss this one-- as we Get Local on Church Street.
There are more specifics below on featured artists and activities at Mingei for that afternoon.

We'll also have bright Indian posters -- from deities to alphabet charts--for just $5 each!  And please note that all kimonos are now 30% off.

During these Staycation Sundays on Church Street, we are celebrating our local businesses and local suppliers. Each participating business will be showcasing local artists and designers.  We'll have treats, music, entertainment and door prizes!  For more information on what will  be happening at our neighbors, please click here.

Plan to join us for the last Staycation Sunday on August 9, from 1-4.  We'll have Sarabrazil visiting us with Brazilian jewelery and more to end the summer with a Samba beat.

 |
                      | Our first featured artist for this Staycation Sunday is Julia Leaphart from Conyers, Georgia. Her candles are all hand poured and packaged in Conyers.  They source their wooden and glass containers from small
manufacturers in northern India, working with suppliers directly
to ensure the best possible working conditions and relationships.

                      | | Wood Jewelry by Marlene and Mari Davis |
                      | Malene wore this necklace into Mingei and stopped us in our tracks.  These colorful designs by sisters Malene and Mari Davis are eco-friendly too,  inspired by the indigenous tribespeople of Africa, Central America and
Thailand and made with lightweight
recycled palm tree and Korean boxwood. Come on in this Sunday to find the perfect
head-turning piece for you!
