Paging Columbus! (a poetry reading)
|  Thursday, April 14th 6 to 8pm Join us for the first event of this literary series in which Columbus-based (and OSU alumni) poets Maggie Smith, Jason Gray, Jen Town and Hannah Stephenson will read recent work. Stick around after for refreshments and conversation. Paging Columbus is a literary arts-themed event series with a local focus. Taking place on the first Thursday evening of every month (from 6 to 8pm), events will feature readings and panel discussions, as well as networking events to strengthen our already-flourishing community of writers, readers and artists.

Tuesday, April 19th, 2 to 3pm OUR ART/OUR PLANET: Rooftop Garden Tours
Be the first to see the rooftop garden this year during a sneak-peek tour in honor of Earth Week! The tour begins at the OSU Urban Arts Space where guests will get an inside look at the current exhibitions and learn about the many green aspects our organization. The tour concludes with a trip up to the beautiful green roof. Free and open to all. Space is limited, so reserve your spot on this form.
Thursday, April 21st, 7 to 8pm OUR ART/OUR PLANET: Urban Monthly Mix Exchange Love sharing and making CD mixes? Join our mixed tape community! Urban Monthly Mix Exchange is a program for the community to mingle, become exposed to new musical artists and exchange mixed CDs with fellow music enthusiasts. This month's theme will be: "songs to be at one with Nature." Free and open to all.
Thursday, April 21st, 7 to 8pm Marotta Hour: Rocco Di Pietro's "Italian Rajas"
Columbus-based composer Rocco Di Pietro presents the world premiere of his piece "Italian Rajas." Marotta Hour is an electro-acoustic music series featuring unexpected sounds from free jazz to electronic to free-form improvisation. Free and open to all. Donations accepted.
Friday, April 22nd, 4:30 to 6pm OUR ART/OUR PLANET: Dirt! Screening
Join us for a screening of the award-winning documentary Dirt! For a movie that is self-proclaimed "simply about dirt", it is guaranteed to change the way you look at the roots of our world. Free and open to all.

The Art in the House exhibition displays an eclectic array of artwork produced by children participating in the Greater Columbus Arts Council's Art in the House program. Using the Frank Museum of Otterbein College's Ceremonial Objects & West African Artifacts exhibition as a point of inspiration, the young artists worked with the support of four master teaching artists to create works of art that are directly influenced by cultural objects from around the world.

This annual exhibition is an opportunity to sample an array of current directions in contemporary art, fresh from the studios of practicing professional artists who are completing MFA degrees in the Department of Art at The Ohio State University.
Participating artists work in painting and drawing, performance, sculpture, photography, ceramics, printmaking, video, sound, new media, and varied combination of these media.

The Department of Art Bachelor of Fine Arts Senior Projects Exhibition presents the work of graduating art majors working in a wide range of media and approaches. The projects reveal ambitious bodies of work developed during their course of study in areas such as art and technology, ceramics, glass, painting and drawing, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. This exhibition is sponsored by the Department of Art and the College of Arts and Sciences.

Bring Your Art to CABS Let Art Transport You
|
Students, submit your artwork to Oh Art, a student-built solution to increase OSU's art culture by incorporating student work onto the Campus Area Bus Service (CABS) transit system. Selected pieces will be digitized and installed as perforated transparencies onto the interior windows of the buses and bus stops, transforming OSU's transportation service into Ohio's first moving art gallery. Submission is free and the top artist will receive a cash prize.
Submission deadline is May 18th. Submit your digitized work to ohartcommunity@gmail.com.

| City Center Gallery | Call for entries from independent Columbus artists:
City Center Gallery at the OSU Urban Arts Space is an opportunity for local emerging artists to display their art and launch their careers. One proposal per month will be given a grant of up to $500 and use of the corridor space at the entrance of the OSU Urban Arts Space.
By providing an exhibition space and funding, City Center hopes to foster the development of the independent, creative and innovative community in Columbus, Ohio.
