Discovering Robotics
|
Saturday, September 25th 1:30 to 4:30pm
In partnership with COSI, the OSU Urban Arts Space offers an
opportunity for kids to build basic robotics knowledge and skills using
Lego Mindstorms robot kits. Join us in welcoming Brad Lotocki,
Mechanical Engineer from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, as he leads
a robotics workshop and presentation especially for kids (ages 9 - 14).
Offering a unique opportunity to learn about
the impact robotics has had on the work of both an artist and an
engineer, Immersive Environments artist Alan Price will discuss the role robotics plays in his interactive, real-time
animations.
Kids who are interested in engineering, technology,
art, or design, will
walk away from this workshop with a new creative experience that
integrates
science and the arts. Participants will learn how to design and test necessary robotic parts
and
functions to create a working robot. Beginners' robotics experience is
welcome
but not necessary. All equipment and materials will be provided.
RSVP's are required for this free program. Please RSVP to uas@osu.edu, or call (614) 292-8861. If you have any questions, please contact student assistant Leigh Lotocki at leigh.lotocki@gmail.com. Workshop is limited to 20 participants.

the victim's medical bills and life-long care. Proceeds from
the sale of artwork and raffle tickets will go directly to Alix's
family.
Artwork donated by local
artists will be available for purchase through a silent art auction.
Guests can also purchase raffle tickets for the chance to win several
prizes, generously donated by Columbus area businesses. Visit our webpage to learn more about the benefit' silent auction and closing reception.
