Call for Entries: Art for Alix Reese
DEADLINE: September 18th, 2010

The OSU Urban Arts Space proudly presents Art for Alix Reese, a 6-day benefit to support a valuable member of the Columbus community. While driving on May 27, 2010, Alexandria Reese was struck in the neck by crossfire on the east side of Columbus. The bullet severely damaged her spinal cord, paralyzing her from the shoulders down.

Embracing Alix's love of art, the OSU Urban Arts Space is hosting a benefit with artwork, raffles and live performances to raise funds for the victim's medical bills and life-long care. Artwork donated by local artists will be available for purchase through a silent art auction. Guests can also purchase raffle tickets for the chance to win several prizes, generously donated by Columbus area businesses. Proceeds from the sale of artwork and raffle tickets will go directly to Alix's family.

To donate artwork to the auction, please complete and turn in a submission form by September 18, 2010.

e.f. hebner, seen
This exhibition showcases two City Center proposals that each expose the effects of human activities.

The Styrofoam Symphony is a sound installation that uses Styrofoam as the medium and conceptual drive to bring about issues such as mass consumption, the environment, and public naivety.

Using ambiguity to expose the limitations of human perception as an informative tool, Apparition showcases abstract graphite drawings and manipulated digital imagery to challenge the viewer's perception.
