Chine-collé: Chine-collé Reception

Join the OSU Urban Arts Space as we celebrate City Center's launching exhibition: Chine-collé: Chine-collé.
Chine-collé is a Columbus-based collective--comprised of Ross Caliendo,
Todd Pleasants, Alex Ross, and Brian Sharrock--which produces a vast array of
pieces, including abstract paintings and a live performance. The
exhibition, also titled Chine-collé, presents a selection of innovative
creations from these four local rising artists.
This public reception is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be served.

Join us for an
afternoon of hands-on, family-friendly art making with artist Robert
Wright of Lancaster, Ohio.
This monthly family program
is designed to engage youth (ages 5 to 12) and families on a different
topic each month, inspired by artwork on display at the OSU Urban Arts
Space. This month, Wright works with our young artists to create
abstract works of art using a mixture of conventional and
unconventional materials.
Reservations for this free program are recommended. Drop-ins are
permitted only as space and materials are available. RSVP to (614)

See the critically acclaimed artwork of Charles A. Csuri, an artist who
brilliantly utilizes cutting-edge technology, for the first time in
Ohio at the OSU Urban Arts Space. This is an extensive retrospective exhibition, celebrating the life and work
of Charles A. Csuri, Emeritus Professor at the Ohio State University. This exhibition, curated by Janice M. Glowski, Ph.D., examines and
historically contextualizes over 85 of Csuri's computer artworks from
1963 to 2010.

Alan Price: Immersive Environments 2005-2010
OPENS THIS WEEK: Tuesday, July 6th through Saturday, October 2nd

Alan Price, Professor in Design
and the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD) at The Ohio State University, creates interactive virtual environments
using stereoscopic displays, touchscreens, and other alternative forms
of interaction and presentation. This exhibit is a sampling of
Price's work over the past five years, including installations ranging
from images of the surreal to explorations of how we navigate the
border between physical and artificial environments, designing

City Center Voting Committee is thrilled to announce its decision for
its launching exhibition: Chine-collé. The
Columbus-based Chine-collé artist collective, comprised of Ross Caliendo, Todd Pleasants,
Alex Ross, and Brian Sharrock, produces a vast array of pieces,
including abstract paintings and a live performance. The exhibition presents a selection of innovative
creations from these four local rising artists; each bringing unique
and inspiring work to the OSU Urban Arts Space, to Columbus, and to the
art world as a whole.

City Center at the OSU Urban Arts Space

Call for entries from local emerging artists:
City Center at the OSU Urban Arts Space is an opportunity for local
emerging artists to display their art and launch their careers. One
proposal per month will be given a $500 grant, and use of the corridor space at
the entrance of the OSU Urban Arts Space.
By providing an exhibition
space and funding, City Center hopes to
foster the development of the independent, creative, and innovative community in Columbus, Ohio.
