Creativity FUNshop

Saturday, May 29th 10am to 4pm
The OSU Urban Arts Space, with the help of the OSU Design department,
is challenging high school students from the Columbus area with a
one-day workshop to expand creativity and promote design thinking. The
day will be full of FUN, hands-on, MacGyver-like activities that will
get students to think outside of the box.
The event is free of charge and lunch will be provided for all
registered students. Registration for the FUNshop is first come first
serve, so please register online with this form. For

City Center at the OSU Urban Arts Space

Call for entries from local emerging artists:
City Center at the OSU Urban Arts Space is an opportunity for local
emerging artists to display their art and launch their careers. One
proposal per month will be given a $500 grant, and use of the corridor space at
the entrance of the OSU Urban Arts Space.
By providing an exhibition
space and funding, City Center hopes to
foster the development of the independent, creative, and
forward-thinking community in Columbus, Ohio.

Thursday, June 3rd, 5 to 8pm Rock the Space For the first time, the Space plays host to some of the most epic Rock
Band performances ever witnessed. Rock Band players of all skill levels
are welcome, so grab a friend and come experience this unique and
exciting game first-hand.
Wednesday, June 9th, 5 to 8pm OSU Department of Design Spring Exhibition Reception Fifty design students will be displaying their work in this annual exhibition,
representing more than ten weeks of research and development. This
exhibition is the culmination of their design experience at the Ohio
State University.
Saturday, June 12th, 6 to 8pm BFA Senior Projects Exhibition Reception Enjoy the closing reception for the Department of Art Bachelor of Fine Arts Senior Projects Exhibition, which presents the work of 52 graduating art majors working in a wide range
of media and approaches. Free and open to all; refreshments will be provided.
Thursday, June 24th, 6 to 8pm Jacob Wick, Swarm Don't miss this
performance of Swarm by Brooklyn-based trumpet player, composer, and
improviser Jacob Wick. Wick, a native of Chicago, has performed, exhibited, and taught around the world. Swarm challenges conventional notions of what constitutes musical performance.

2010 Arts Scholars Juried Exhibition
February 23rd through June 12th, 2010

The 2010 Arts Scholars Juried Exhibition features work from
high-achieving students in the Arts from all years of study who share a
joint interest in the Arts, including music, visual arts, design,
dance, and theatre. Students major in many areas across campus,
including many non-Arts majors.
Giving students an opportunity to experience the jurying
process and the hanging and promoting of a professional exhibit, this show has traveled, over the past four years, from campus to the
Short North to downtown.

The Department of Art Bachelor of Fine Arts Senior Projects Exhibition
presents the work of 52 graduating art majors working in a wide range
of media and approaches. The projects reveal ambitious bodies of work
developed during their course of study in areas such as art and
technology, ceramics, glass, painting and drawing, photography,
printmaking, and sculpture.
This exhibition is co-located on two sites,
the Hopkins Hall Gallery, at 128 N. Oval Mall on campus, and the OSU
Urban Arts Space.
