English Reformation Course

Thursday, May 6th 6:30 to 7:30pm Kathy Simcox conducts her fifth of seven sessions of a free discussion-based course which traces
the development of the Reformation, from the Wars of the Roses to the
reign and death of Queen Elizabeth I.
Participants will gain comprehensive knowledge about the Reformation
period and English history. The course will provide additional details
on events leading up to the Reformation, The Wars of the Roses, the
Tudor Dynasty, Martin Luther's influence, information about the Bible,
doctrinal differences between Catholic and Protestant beliefs, the
reign of Elizabeth I, and much more!

Design Apps for Healthy Kids

Saturday, May 8th 1 to 2pm Ever wanted to be a product tester? Stephanie Owens, a senior in Ohio State's design program, is developing an online game that teaches
children and families about healthy eating and exercise habits.
This
event will be a review of her game prototype and the game will be
entered in the national Apps for Healthy Kids Contest in June. Your ideas could make it into the game!

The 2010 Master of Fine Arts Exhibition: Me and You and Everyone We Know provides an opportunity to sample an array of current
directions in contemporary art, fresh from the studios of 27 practicing
professional artists who are completing MFA degrees in the Department
of Art at The Ohio State University.

Saturday, May 15th 1 to 3pm Art Explorations Join us for an afternoon of hands-on, family-friendly activities. Local artist Eric
Marlow will help us explore making art out of recycled materials.
Through his workshop, "Reduce, Reuse, Recyclabits,"
Eric will teach kids about the environment and how to create toys,

the OSU Urban Arts Space in collaboration with the OSU Design
Department for a one-day workshop that expands creative design thinking. Through a series of hands on, MacGyver-like activities, students will learn to think outside of the box.
Thursday, June 24th 6 to 8pm Jacob Wick, Swarm Don't miss this
performance of Swarm by Brooklyn-based trumpet player, composer, and
improviser Jacob Wick. Wick, a native of Chicago, has performed, exhibited, and taught around the world. Swarm challenges conventional notions of what constitutes musical performance.

2010 Masters of Fine Arts Exhibition: Me and You and Everyone We Know
April 21st through May 20th, 2010 Artist Reception: May 8th, 6 to 8pm

This annual exhibition is an opportunity to sample an array of current
directions in contemporary art, fresh from the studios of 27 practicing
professional artists who are completing MFA degrees in the Department
of Art at The Ohio State University.
The participating artists work in
painting and drawing, performance, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking,
video, sound, new media, and varied combinations of these
possibilities. They have already exhibited in many locales from across
the United States and Canada, as well as in spots as distant as Korea,
China, and Argentina. See what they bring to this diverse and dynamic
presentation at the OSU Urban Arts Space.
Cosponsored by the Department of Art and Colleges of the Arts
and Humanities; funded by a grant from the Efroymson Family Fund, a
CICF Fund, and supported by the John Fergus Family Fund.

2010 Arts Scholars Juried Exhibition February 23rd through June 12th, 2010
|
The 2010 Arts Scholars Juried Exhibition features work from
high-achieving students in the Arts from all years of study who share a
joint interest in the Arts, including music, visual arts, design,
dance, and theatre. Students major in many areas across campus,
including many non-Arts majors.
Giving students an opportunity to experience the jurying
process and the hanging and promoting of a professional exhibit, this show has traveled, over the past four years, from campus to the
Short North to downtown.
