Design Networking Night

Design students (Interior, Industrial, and Visual Communication
Design) from The Ohio State University and CCAD, as well as
representatives from local firms, are invited to join us for this networking event.
The Design Networking Night is an opportunity for local design students to display their personal
work, to network with local firms and design professionals, and to find
out about internships and other opportunities. Plus, design firms will
discover the freshest talent in Columbus. Firms will give short
presentations on their work and vision.

A John Cage MUSICIRCUS
|
Thursday April 29th 7:30 to 9pm Experience a unique musical performance presented by the Ohio State
University Percussion Ensemble, directed by Susan Powell and Joseph
Krygier, at the OSU Urban Arts Space. This "musicircus", or an
overlapping musical collage, is far removed from a traditional concert
format.
Focusing on the music of artist John Cage, the percussion
ensemble will present pieces including Third Construction (1941) and
Living Room Music (1940). The event is free and open to all.

Join the us for an afternoon of hands-on, family-friendly activities. Local artist Eric
Marlow will help us explore making art out of recycled materials.
Through his workshop, "Reduce, Reuse, Recyclabits,"
Eric will teach kids about the environment and how to create toys,
games, jewelry, and much more from items we typically throw away. Please RSVP to uas@osu.edu and bring an empty recyclable to the event.

2010 Masters of Fine Arts Exhibition:
Me and You and Everyone We Know
OPENS THIS WEEK: April 21st through May 20th, 2010
Artist Reception: May 8th, 6 to 8pm

This annual exhibition is an opportunity to sample an array of current
directions in contemporary art, fresh from the studios of 27 practicing
professional artists who are completing MFA degrees in the Department
of Art at The Ohio State University.
The participating artists work in
painting and drawing, performance, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking,
video, sound, new media, and varied combinations of these
possibilities. They have already exhibited in many locales from across
the United States and Canada, as well as in spots as distant as Korea,
China, and Argentina. See what they bring to this diverse and dynamic
presentation at the OSU Urban Arts Space.
Cosponsored by the Department of Art and Colleges of the Arts
and Humanities; funded by a grant from the Efroymson Family Fund, a
CICF Fund, and supported by the John Fergus Family Fund.

2010 Arts Scholars Juried Exhibition
February 23rd through June 12th, 2010

The 2010 Arts Scholars Juried Exhibition features work from
high-achieving students in the Arts from all years of study who share a
joint interest in the Arts, including music, visual arts, design,
dance, and theatre. Students major in many areas across campus,
including many non-Arts majors.
Giving students an opportunity to experience the jurying
process and the hanging and promoting of a professional exhibit, this show has traveled, over the past four years, from campus to the
Short North to downtown.
