The English Reformation

Join us as Kathy Simcox leads a free discussion-based course tracing the development of the Reformation, from the Wars of the  Roses to the reign and death of Queen Elizabeth I.

This seven-week course will be held every Thursday beginning April 8th and concluding May 20th. All six lectures include slides and discussion, with an optional seventh presentation consisting of a Skyview video of Tudor Architecture. A free course packet will be provided to supplement the lectures and all age groups are welcome. 


This series is part of our after-work programing offered Thursday evenings. Before or after the show stop by Tip Top Kitchen & Cocktails and ask for the Urban Artists' Special: It's very special indeed and it's only $3.

Join the OSU Urban Arts Space for a week of cultural events at the 32nd annual African American Heritage Festival. Hosted by the Multicultural Center at the Ohio State University, the festival works to educate and promote cultural awareness at Ohio State and the Greater Columbus area while at the same time commemorating the legacy of the African American experience. The festival begins with a "Good Times" kickoff celebration on Saturday, April 24th from 2pm- 7pm on the south oval.

Join Stephanie Owens, a senior in OSU's Design Program, in developing an online game to teach children and families about healthy eating and exercise habits.

2010 Masters of Fine Arts Exhibition:
You and Me and Everyone We Know

OPENS THIS WEEK: April 21st through May 20th, 2010
Artist Reception: May 8th, 6 to 8pm

mfa2010 This annual exhibition is an opportunity to sample an array of current directions in contemporary art, fresh from the studios of 27 practicing professional artists who are completing MFA degrees in the Department of Art at The Ohio State University.

The participating artists work in painting and drawing, performance, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, video, sound, new media, and varied combinations of these possibilities. They have already exhibited in many locales from across the United States and Canada, as well as in spots as distant as Korea, China, and Argentina. See what they bring to this diverse and dynamic presentation at the OSU Urban Arts Space.

Cosponsored by the Department of Art and Colleges of the Arts and Humanities; funded by a grant from the Efroymson Family Fund, a CICF Fund, and supported by the John Fergus Family Fund.

2010 Arts Scholars Juried Exhibition
February 23rd through June 12th, 2010

The 2010 Arts Scholars Juried Exhibition features work from high-achieving students in the Arts from all years of study who share a joint interest in the Arts, including music, visual arts, design, dance, and theatre. Students major in many areas across campus, including many non-Arts majors.

Giving students an opportunity to experience the jurying process and the hanging and promoting of a professional exhibit, this show has traveled, over the past four years, from campus to the Short North to downtown.
