Spring Perspective Performances
|
Thursday, April 1st 7:30 to 10pm Following this performance will be
a Q&A session with the artists. Free and open to all.
Friday, April 2nd 7:30 to 10:30pm This performance will be followed by a reception. Free and open to all. Light refreshments will be provided.
Please Note: Non-wheelchair seating will be limited during performances. Please be prepared to stand.
About the Projects Lindsay Caddle LaPointe's project, OVERSIZED, involves four dances for the camera celebrating large-scale art of the everyday objects found in the state of Ohio. Lily Skove presents The Edge of Visibility, a set of video installations and performance derived from her experimentation with light as presence. Inspired by the video work of Lincoln Schatz, Rodney Veal's
installation, The Persistence of Memory II, combines sculpture and video as a way to explore memory
and movement. Lise Worthen-Chaudhari's Embedded Arts utilizes motion capture technology to
embed the arts in stroke and spinal cord injury rehabilitation. Images
from this work will be installed for the duration of the exhibition and
evening performances will include a demonstration of her
improvisational, arts-generative process. ALSO: Rashana Smith presents a video short, Seedling, which offers a quick glimpse of behind-the-scenes footage from each piece.
Curated by Dave Covey.
These performances are part of our after-work programming offered Thursday evenings. Before the show, stop by Tip Top Kitchen & Cocktails and ask for the Urban Artists' Special: It's very special indeed and it's only $3.
