Face Time with OSU Dancers Melanie Bales and Susan Hadley

A behind-the-scenes look at dance making and performance in preparation for OSU's Dance Downtown.
Melanie Bales and Susan Hadley, both OSU professors and choreographers, bring OSU dancers downtown to present and discuss sections of their works. Bales has choreographed "Ivory Dances," a contemporary take on the ballet blanc, while Hadley's "Blue Grass" is a resetting of a work originally commissioned by Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. Ballet blanc and blue grass: A must see!

Joining the Digital Imaging World

Thursday, April 23rd 6 to 8pm
Ohio Art League, in association with the OSU Urban Arts Space, presents a workshop on creating digital images of artwork to use for submissions to exhibitions. Topics covered in the workshop will include:
* transferring slide images to digital images * selecting a digital camera * shooting digital images * transferring digital images from camera to computer * editing digital images * and formatting images for submissions, print, and web
In order to cover the wide variety of subjects, the workshop will be a demonstration type presentation, not a hands-on.

A Reggio Inspired Forum exists to promote an exchange of information, ideas and experiences through a variety of professional development opportunities. The group strives to inspire quality early learning and care for young children and their families in Ohio. They meet tonight at the OSU Urban Arts Space.

Thursday, May 7th 7 to 9:30pm Double Feature: An Exploration of Mind, Memory and Dream As part of the 2009 Master of Fine Arts Exhibition: Begged, Borrowed, and Stolen, artist Scott Aiger presents a simultaneous double feature of the movies Burden of Dreams by Les Blank, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind written by Charlie Kaufman and directed by Michel Gondry. Includes introduction by Aiger.

2009 Master of Fine Arts Exhibition: Begged, Borrowed, and Stolen April 22nd - May 20th Reception: May 9th, 6 to 9pm
The Master of Fine Arts Exhibition returns to the OSU Urban Arts Space with Begged, Borrowed, and Stolen. This year's exhibition presents the work of all graduating MFA students in the OSU Department of Art. Showcasing research work in art + technology, ceramics, glass, painting + drawing, photography, printmaking, and sculpture, this exhibition celebrates nineteen emerging artists.
Begged, Borrowed, and Stolen is organized by Jennifer Wulffson Bedford, independent art historian and former senior editor of the Bibliography of the History of Art at the Getty Research Institute, with Christopher Bedford, Curator of Exhibitions at the Wexner Center for the Arts.
Cosponsored by the Department of Art and Colleges of the Arts and Humanities; funded by a grant from the Efroymson Family Fund, a CICF Fund, and supported by the John Fergus Family Fund.
