Hello Everyone,
First, we want to let our Japanese friends and collegues know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this devastating time. We were happy to see that some of you were able to get to New Orleans for the TESOL Convention. |

Resources
In our travels to various conferences and exhibitions, we come across wonderful materials for related skill training including presentation skills, telephone communication, writing, etc. We have decided to showcase a "Featured Product" each month to help you expand your professional libraries. Harrington, D and LeBeau, C, Speaking of Speech New Edition: Basic Presentation Skills for Beginners, MacMillan English. ISBN 978-0-2307-2601-7 This book was designed for beginner to intermediate English speaking high school students in Japan. It has some excellent tips about gestures, non-verbal communication, and organization of speeches with an accompanying DVD. The content is more geared toward high school students (as intended) and may be too low level for professionals in the workforce. However, it is an excellent additional resource if you are teaching public speaking or presentation skills, especially to non-native speakers. Check it out |
