RULES Cover      RULES: Tip of the Month

Adjective + Noun Stress Pattern:
In a sentence with an adjective + noun, the noun is stressed, e.g., "red car."
Sometimes the same two words can make up a compound noun, or have a completely different meaning as an adjective + noun combination.

With a compound noun, the stress is on the first word, e.g., greenhouse.
With an adjective + noun, the noun is stressed, e.g., green house.

"The green house has a greenhouse filled with beautiful plants and flowers."

Updates on our Products

Thanks to some excellent trainer suggestions, we have compiled a reference sheet comparing the contents of the RULES Teacher's Edition and Student Edition workbooks. Now, with a quick glance you can easily locate activities and CD tracks in both books using a handy guide. We are always striving to improve our products. If you purchased the Teacher's Edition and have not yet received this update, please contact us. If you have any other suggestions or recommendations, we would love to hear from you. Thanks to Dale Klein and Jill Kaufman for this idea!

We are thrilled to announce our RULES PowerPoint upgrades. Now, slides for each unit have their own file so you don't have to scroll through all of the slides to find what you need. If you are interested in receiving this $20 upgrade (including shipping and handling), please contact us via e-mail or phone.
