Dear Friends,
Whether your business is winding down a bit or ... or gearing up... we hope that you have a wonderful summer! |
RULES: Tip of the Month:
A Compound noun is comprised of two distinct words that are joined together to create a word with a new meaning. They can be written as one new word, e.g., checkbook, airport; they may be two separate words, e.g., bank account, parking lot; or they may be hyphenated, e.g., drive-thru, take-out. The list of compound words is exhaustive and new words arise as our technology changes. The first word of a compound noun should be stressed with a higher pitch, louder volume and longer vowel. If the first word has two or more syllables, remember to maintain the correct syllable stress for that word, e.g., Emergency Room, Insurance card. There may be regional differences for stressed syllables. |
During the month of July, with a purchase of 10 RULES student books or 10 RULES Student Packages (RULES workbook and audio CD set), receive one additional workbook or Student Package at no cost. Please mention this special when ordering. If you order on the website, include this special in the comment section. |

Getting Press for Your Business
If you are looking to gain greater visibility for your business or program, consider contacting local magazine or newspaper editors about writing an article for them or pitching a story idea. Most metropolitan areas have a growing number of publications geared toward Asian, Hispanic, Filipino, and other ethnic communities. You can also offer to write a story for an affiliated organizations' newsletter or magazine.
