"The greatest trick
the Devil ever pulled
was convincing the world
he didn't exist."

~Baudelaire (1864)

You must defeat samsara.
You defeat her by perfecting yourself.

The instant samsara realizes you are out to defeat her,
she steps up her game.
"Come with me," she wheedles, "and happiness is yours.
All you have to do is put yourself first.
Do whatever it takes to gain fame and money, power and status;
if you have to hurt a few people to get it, well, too bad. It's every man for himself.
Lie, cheat, steal, circumvent, slander, demean, defraud, hoard. Sue people.
Don't forget to ignore the pain of others and definitely don't help anyone.
This is how happiness is made."
Samsara is the id. The id is amoral and egocentric.

Reaching for samsara's empty, value-free offerings is like reaching for Hustler
when you have a question about God.

Advice From A Demon

If you let samsara in, she will take over your mind,
the one thing that can get you out of here.
To get out of here, you need to take over your mind.
"Perfect thyself or destroy the happiness of a million beings,"
instructed the founder of our lineage, Je Tsongkhapa (1357 - 1419).

Free, Guided Meditations

Your mind's effort towards perfection, toward kindness, compassion and wisdom,
makes samsara tremble. She knows her death is near.
And since she has spent so many millennia in charge of you,
confident of her powers and thinking she had a lock on it,
she will not go down without a very big, very long fight.

This is one fight you should enjoy.
Kick her ass.
Refuse to be unkind, selfish, careless or indifferent.
Stand up for what is right.
Do not let her win.
Your happiness and the happiness of all beings is at stake.

Love,

Kelly
