"How can you regard yourself as subject
and other beings as objects,
when you know that all are one?"
~Brihadaranyaka Upanishad
Helping Hand

When you are feeling broke,
should you donate less or stop buying Manolos?

When you are feeling anxious,
should you double up on the shrink or slug back a tequila?

When you are feeling friendless,
should you call people you don't like or complain about NYC?

Stop seeking refuge in that which
cannot provide refuge
and which, in the end,
  sends you deeper into samsara.

Seek the true cause of the way you feel:
You made someone feel the same way, in the past,
broke,
anxious,
or lonely.

Seek the true antidote to your afflictions:
Find someone broke and give them money,
find someone anxious and give them a hug,
find someone lonely and make them your friend.

Then, no matter what you do,
tea, tequila or shrinks,
it will function,
for YOU.
