And Another Birthday

The May Day hair emergency I was referring to is your hair after a long dry winter. But Wait! Yes, we can help. T'eez is now doing the Keratin Protein Thermal service. What the? This kind of service is often called the Brazilian Blow out. No fellas, it's not... that. It's actually a very popular craze sweeping the world that blasts dry, curly and or frizzy hair with so much Keratin protein (not chemically changing the your hair like with perms or straighteners) that it conditions your hair straighter or relaxed and shiny. Beautiful body, not curly frizzz or limp straight.
Mother's Day is almost upon us. What can I say about my Mom? It's all true. Yep, it turns out all that stuff written about Mother's is true. The funny stuff, the crazy stuff, the exasperating stuff, but most of all the good stuff. It's said when you stand and the edge staring into the abyss, you learn your true character. Well, you also learn who you can really count on, if anyone. I'll bet you 9 out of 10 of your Moms are on that short list, like mine. It's too bad it took so long to realize a lot of this. I just wish I could slow it all down now. Thanks Mom, Happy Mother's Day.
Finally, my son's birthday is May 8th. He's turning 11. Remember 11? I do. I hope I'm not being naive but I thank God my son isn't doing half the crap I was at 11. Even so, I see it in his eyes. He's good, but he ain't all good. He's got a little outlaw in him. I can only hope to help him avoid some of the sins of his Father. It's rare but sometimes I'll catch him being nice to his sister. It seems I'm addressing life's big questions on a regular basis with him. He wants to know everything and to be able to do anything. He hates, "no," "wait," "not yet," "later," and "don't!" Everything's a negotiation and damn it, he's good at it. I can start to see what he will be better at than I. But there's a lot that I just don't know and won't until he grows up. As scary as that is, I guess it's pretty amazing. I love him more than I feel is possible. It's the only love that requires nothing. No work and it's beyond my control. I just wish I could slow it all down now. Happy Birthday my little man.

I didn't mean for this new section to simply be a food critic column and I promise it won't be, but I am going to give my Take on yet another restaurant.
Tanduri Fusion has become my most frequented restaurant, period. There's a few reasons why. First of all I love Indian Food and have eaten at most in Omaha several times. I've settled with this one as my favorite. It's not the decor or even the ambience (and I'm a big believer in both). It's the food and the service. Proving the core rule of any business. Quality of product and service is the hallmark of a successful business. My mouth is watering as I'm writing this. No lie, that should tell you something about the food. It has become addictive. The service is about the only other thing that could rival the food. They are usually a young and always friendly staff from India, Nepal and other countries beyond our borders that could not be more enjoyable and helpful. Top that off with management that will always go the extra mile to make sure we are taken care of. These are good people and I'm glad to know them. Now that is a recipe for delicious success. Tell me that didn't sound cornball, but the facts are true! Thankfully my girlfriend, Adrienne may even like it more than I do and it's close which means we go there a lot. OK by me. Chicken Tikka Madras, diet coke, naan, and salad.
