BRIEF NOTES

Hello,

PETER RIZZO  JAN 29, 1030-1PM

Simply a reminder that Peter Rizzo will be here again this Saturday Jan 29th at 10:30AM guiding us in a blissful, vigorous yoga class.  Please join us or join us again.  Peter's first class, in the busy month of December, received rave reviews from experienced and more beginner level students.

Cost:  $30 or by donation.

And a thank you

Here is a message to our beautiful Yoga family from Donna Myers regarding the fundraiser for Dana Lewis which was held last Saturday Jan. 22, 2011.

Dear Friends,
Are you ready for this???? We raised $1,023 for my friend Dana Lewis last Saturday!!! I am blown away by your kindness, love and generosity and so is Dana. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart and truly believe this incredible display of human spirit is more powerful and healing than any drug or medicine.  Please continue to hold Dana and all fellow beings whose health is compromised in the light.
Again, my deepest thanks and love to all of you,
Donna

The  three lucky winner''s of the Thai Massage raffle were Betsy Browning, Kim Post and Jen Dalzell. Congratulations ladies and enjoy!

 And another thank you

a letter from Donna's husband, Jonathan regarding a different fundraiser for Dana.  Please read and enjoy his equally inspiring thoughts.

 Dear Friends,

Thank you all so much for being part of our jazz evening last night at the Nova Mae Cafe {Jan 23}. We were able to raise over $500 for Dana and had some fun too!  Along with the proceeds that Donna was able to raise with her yoga class, courtesy of the Yoga Place, we are able to contribute in a very concrete way.

If you had fun at our jazz club and/or at our mini yoga retreat I hope you will keep an eye out for what we will be doing in the future.  More importantly, I hope you will keep an eye on the good things in life.  I think anyone will tell you, especially if they have been through something akin to what Dana is experiencing, that your health is the everything.  Good health in mind, body and spirit is what makes all good things possible.  Care for this, and you are doing a lot to care for everybody.

So, in a roundabout way I would like to encourage you to keep giving to Dana by looking after yourselves.  This does not involve donating cash: you can create positive movement that nurtures the good things in life.  These simple acts weave together to heal us all.

I can think of some things you can do to heal the world by healing yourself:

*Join with others in yoga practice with Jane or Donna at the Yoga Place
(my wife's practice of yoga infuses our whole family with love)

*Break bread with someone you love at the Nova Mae Cafe
(Kim Post's devotion and creativity to food bring me great joy, energy and health; Dave's ability to work with space provide me with a haven)

*Relax and delight in some of the exotic sounds that Matthew Perry brings us at the Vermont Arts Exchange
(Matt's taste in art and music bring me hours of inspiration)

*Bring live music into your life: pick up an instrument you used to play, have a concert in your house, visit a concert, be aware of that music can transform your life and open yourself to that possibility.

I can testify to the goodness of all of these things, and I believe that we make the world better by being part of them.

warm regards,
Jonathan

Interesting that the word "dana" in meditation and yoga circles refers to giving freely to your teachers, to further the reach of teachings themselves - not so much to focus on the teacher - but to express gratitude for what one has received.  So many thanks to Dana Lewis who so graciously invited us into her world and allowed us to be useful.  Thanks.
