Medi-Cal Transaction Services/ POS Status Update

This morning Sydney Ryden of ACS made CAMPS aware that ACS is working on the Point of Service connection and Transaction Services, on the Medi-Cal website as these two systems are either very slow or in some cases providers cannot access.  As of 11:15 this morning it was reported that the POS eligibility is back up but running slow. Therefore, providers can begin to check beneficiary eligibility.

It was reported that the HIPAA 5010 Companion Guide has been released today and it is on the Medi-Cal website, www.medi-cal.ca.gov.

Reminder: You will need to create an account in order to access the eTutorials, and access the new Medi-Cal Learning Management System.   They just need to go to the Education Tab on the Medi-Cal home page and click on Learning Portal, then click on Register.  They will also be able to find their local Regional Rep on the website now.

Please feel free to send your questions to Sydney.Ryden@acs-inc.com if you have any further questions or concerns.

Competitive Bidding Seminars

Competitive Bidding is the biggest threat to our industry's health unless we can educate enough providers about the bidding process. CAMPS has partnered with The MED Group to provide seminars about the bidding process in San Francisco (10/12), Los Angeles (Orange County)(10/13)**, Sacramento (10/14), San Diego (12/6) and Visalia (12/7).

The program will consist of three parts:
  • Session 1 - Preparing Your Bid: The Bidding Process
  • Session 2 - How to Prepare Your Company for the Start of Competitive Bidding the Summer of 2013
  • Session 3 - Revenue Growth: "You Can't Cut Your Way to Prosperity"

The goal of the program is to educate all providers about the challenges within the competitive bidding program in order to ensure the well being of patients and the industry. There will be a focus on educating providers about what drives the bidding process, the program and operational strategies.

Pricing for the Seminar are as follows:

$49 for MED members (for two attendees)
