A woman of noble character is worth more than rubies and diamonds. Proverbs 31:10
What is your favorite piece of completed needlework? Which of your completed projects do you consider most valuable, most precious to you?
God says you are His masterpiece, his most valuable creation. You are also created for a purpose. Ephesians 2:10 says we are created to do good things he planned long ago. It sounds like a lot of pressure placed on our shoulders, but there is another part of the verse we cannot forget. "For we are God's masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus so we can do the things he planned for us along ago." We do not have to do this alone.
Look at a ball of yarn. By itself it may look nice, you could set it on a table and it might be decorative, but there is little value in the ball of string. Now, start to knit or crochet with that yarn. Something usable is developing! As you continue, you will make mistakes. Each mistake affects the work. If corrected, you learn a lesson and move on. If ignored, the mistake may be unseen, like a sin hidden in the heart, or it may be obvious and add character to the final outcome like mistakes I have made in my life and you in yours, making each of us the person of character we are today.
So, how do we learn to become valuable woman of noble character? "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect". (Romans 12:2 NLT).
Become like the ball of yarn, available to be knitted by God's hands into a virtuous woman of noble character. He will knit you into His eternal plan. When you mess up, He will guide you through the repair process and continue stitching as you become a valuable creation. For you are His most valuable work in progress.
