The Gift

This past Christmas I knitted or crocheted many of the gifts I gave. From slippers for the older great-nieces and nephews to dolls for the younger girls, I carefully stitched each item specifically for the child.

In an effort to get ahead for next Christmas I am getting started on projects. Blankets, I hope, will be completed for each family on my list.

There is a gift I cherish more than any other.  The gift of salvation offered to me by Jesus Christ. (click here for Billy Graham's answer on how to receive this gift). Nothing I do is good enough to get me into heaven. I cannot give enough, I cannot work enough, I cannot be good enough.  The only way to heaven, to God the Father, is through Jesus Christ (John 14:6).  There are many patterns for a specific project and I can alter one pattern to make individual gifts.  The pattern set out as a map to heaven, however, cannot be changed. "I am the way, the truth and life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6)

I worked hard on the gifts I made this past Christmas season, but they are of no value if not accepted by the recipient. Jesus is offering you a gift. Have you accepted it?
