Knitting Tip of the Month
Do you lose count of rows when knitting while talking or watching tv?  I recently read an interesting way to keep track.
Lay out potato chips or chocolate chips equivalent to the number of rows you are knitting.  Eat one each time you complete a row.  Once all the chips are gone you are ready to move on to the next section.
What a sweet way to count rows!!

Welcome to the fourth issue of "Knit In Prayer".  Here we will bring you scripture, stories, knit tips and ideas each month.

STASH
To a knitter, a "stash" is that supply of yarn that continues to grow bigger and bigger and bigger. For me, I have almost as much yarn stash as I do teddy bears. There is very little room in my home for people and dogs J

What do you treasure?  What do you stash? One place to seek a woman's treasure would be in her purse.  What is in your purse?  Let's explore a few things that I am sure are there.

Keys.  You probably have at least 2 sets of keys, one to a house and one to a vehicle of some sort.  These keys allow you access to what is yours. God has also provided us a key to something very important as well. It is the key to faith. Read Romans 4:16 in the New Living Testament.   "..that's why faith is the key! God's promise is given to us as a free gift."  You probably had to pay for your house and your car and even to have the keys made. God's key is FREE!!  All you have to do is accept it.

Credit Card, Debit Card, Checkbook, Money.  Whatever form of money you use, you purchase food, clothing, yarn to knit, pay the mortgage, etc.  One thing that you cannot buy is a place in God's kingdom.  Let's look at the story in Acts 8 where a man named Simon wanted to buy from Peter and John the power to lay hands on others in God's name:  . Then Peter and John laid their hands upon these believers, and they received the Holy Spirit.  When Simon saw that the Holy Spirit was given when the apostles placed their hands upon people's heads, he offered money to buy this power.  "Let me have this power, too," he exclaimed, "so that when I lay my hands on people, they will receive the Holy Spirit!"  But Peter replied, "May your money perish with you for thinking God's gift can be bought!  You can have no part in this, for your heart is not right before God. ( Acts 8:17-21)

We may keep our treasures in a safe deposit box, in a storage closet, in our purse, or in a hole dug in the backyard.  But our true treasure in heaven.  Matt 6:20 says   "Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy and thieves do not break in and steal."

Look to God for your real treasure.
