A Comforter Will Come
And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever. John 14:16
It is sometimes difficult to explain the idea behind "Bear WItness". It's easy when the idea is in giving the teddy bear to a child, but can one really be a comfort to an adult?
Recently I was at a ministry leaders meeting where one of the women was having difficulty concentrating; the unconscious clicking of the pen in her hand was only one hint. Both her parents were seriously ill and she would be returning to their bedside immediately following the gathering. I had a few Bearnabas Bears on display nearby so I quietly left the room and got one which I softly laid in her lap as the meeting continued.
Immediately she cradled the bear in one arm and gently stroked it; the tension slowly drained from her face as she relaxed. The meeting proceeded (more) |
