What to Wear What do I wear to my meeting? This question comes up more often than one would think. Some of you might be saying to yourselves Who would have to ask? Some others are feeling a sense of relief that someone has taken the time to help.
The easy answer is, wear whatever you would wear to a meeting with the biggest, best potential client you can ever imagine. That said, if you are a chimney sweep who wears a uniform every day, I would expect to see you in your uniform at the meeting. Clean, pressed, put together, but still in your uniform.
On the other hand, I expect a lawyer or a Financial Planner to wear a suit.
Computer people (because I am one) are big offenders of this thought process. We think we still have license to look like we just rolled out of bed and people will still refer business to us because of how brilliant we are. Let me tell you that you are wrong.
Remember that you are always doing a commercial for yourself. People make up their mind about you in the first 7 seconds of meeting you. So wear clean clothes, take a shower, get a haircut, and go to your meeting wearing the most important thing of all....a smile. Click Here for more articles
