 NURSERY NOW OPEN

Today we are going to show you a demonstration how to slow down your forward moving horse. First of all, I want to say that it can't be done with just a few practice sessions...But....it can be done!
We are currently training a very nice 2 year old appendix Quarter Horse. He has only been under saddle for about 5 weeks. We do not want to discourage forward motion, but we want him to stop being in such a hurray and we do not want him to get in the habit of rushing.
The first video shows you an actual training session that we had last week. You can see him rushing...not listening to the rider...mouth gaping and trying to run through the bit.
Instead of pulling and holding and jerking...we are going to ask him to soften and work laterally. Eileen is going to be very definite in showing this youngster what is good ( what we are wanting) and what is bad( or what he is doing wrong)
I think these 2 videos are very interesting because they were made 2 days a part...You are actually seeing training sessions and improvements made in 2 days!
We hope this will help you in schooling your horse!
