Welcome to MountainTop Ranch

Greetings!

Enjoy our weekly brief on training tips, horse care and management, breeding, foaling and other related topics.

The staff at MountainTop Ranch looks forward to serving you and all your horse needs.  Feel free to contact us by E-mail, phone, and, by all means, come up and see us at the Ranch.
Today I have put together a special slide show of our July 4th
horse swim. Only one of the 6 horses that we took to the pond already knew how to swim. The other 5 are horses here at the ranch in training. Swimming practice is part of the summer training program at Mountaintop Ranch.
If you have ever ridden a horse that is afraid to cross water or has a general phobia of water, then you know how frustrating that can be. I have put together this slide show to entertain, but training a horse to enjoy water can be frustrating and very hard work. I will adress training techniques in a later edition of Mountiantop Minutes.
Please do not put yourself in a position to train a water phobic horse to water without the aid and help of a professional because you will probably make the problem worse.
But for now, please enjoy the slide show of our 4th of July water swim of horses in training at Mountaintop Ranch.
Please click the red arrow at the right once the slide show is loaded to make the pictures come up full screen.
I want to give credit to Kristin Helsley for the photos that you will be seeing.
Be sure to check out all the beautiful horses that are currently for sale at Mountiantop Ranch and our training program on our web site.
