Ask PCA: "The Club vs. High School Dilemma," a Case Study from Jim Thompson's New Book, The High School Sports Parent
HSSP_200To celebrate the publication of PCA Founder and Executive Director Jim Thompson's latest book, The High School Sports Parent, this week's "Ask PCA" question is drawn from one of the 10 Case Studies in the book.

In our next Connector, we will excerpt Jim's answer from the book. Meanwhile, for many of the answers that high school sports parents need, click here to purchase copies of The High School Sports Parent.

Now, this week's question:

Your son plays for an elite soccer team. The coach wants him to quit other sports, including his high school soccer team, to play exclusively with the club team. What should you do?

Join PCA in Honoring Exemplary High School Student-Athletes as Triple-Impact Competitors
As the new high school sports seasons start, take a moment to ponder the high school sports experience. If you support Positive Coaching Alliance, you may think of Triple-Impact CompetitorsTM, student-athletes who work to improve themselves, their teammates and the game as a whole.

Think of what student-athletes like that can do for our world if we encourage them, nurture their success and hold them up as examples for youth athletes to emulate. Those are the goals of the Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship Program.

Leading up to the second annual Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship Awards Ceremony sponsored by Deloitte and the Thrive Foundation for Youth, September 19 at Stanford University, PCA hopes to expand the Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship Program. If you want to help PCA help exemplary student-athletes, who will greatly help our society while reaching their potential, please consider a financial contribution to this program.

To donate any amount toward these scholarships, click here. You will receive, hot off the press, a copy of The High School Sports Parent, the latest book by PCA Founder and Executive Director Jim Thompson.

If you wish to establish one or more scholarships in your name, please contact PCA's Anne Craighill by e-mail or at 650-210-0803.
