Time to Select Your Annual Patient Plan

It's time to select your Annual Patient Plan! As you know, our practice year runs from Sept 1 - Aug 31. We ask all patients to pay an annual administrative fee of $55 which covers services not typically covered by insurance, such as completing medical forms and prescription refills. We ask all patients to pay this annual fee by Sept 1. And to make it even easier for you, we can now accept payments online via major credit card through PayPal! (You do not need a PayPal account to do so.) Visit our website and click on the big yellow button on the home page, or follow the link here.

MD Connect & MD Connect Plus
Interested in having greater access to your physician? Do you want to build a stronger relationship to create a health and wellness plan that not only treats you for illness, but helps you prevent disease and lead a healthy lifestyle? You might be interested in selecting one of our enhanced patient plans. MD Connect allows you to have direct email access to your preferred provider as well as same-day urgent appointments when your provider is in the office. MD Connect is available for all our providers except Dr. Larkin. MD Connect Plus offers all the benefits of MD Connect, plus cell phone access to your provider for non-urgent health questions; preferred scheduling for annual physicals and a direct phone line to the office for easier access. Ask your provider or visit our website for more information.

Gardasil for boys and young men

Did you know that Gardasil, the HPV (human papilloma virus) vaccine, is now approved for use in males ages 9 - 26?
Widely accepted for use in girls and young women to prevent infection with the 4 types of HPV most closely associated with the development of cervical cancer, the vaccine has been shown to decrease genital warts caused by these 4 HPV types in males by almost 90%. Read more on our Better Health Blog in a brief article by Kim L. Miller, MD, board-certified internal medicine physician.

Summer Urgent Walk-In Appointments Available!

We're pleased to offer urgent (but non-complicated) walk-in appointments for our patients this summer. Woke up with a sore throat and need to see a provider? Weekend warrior injury from that Saturday soccer game? Patients now have the option to walk right in, without a scheduled appointment, and be seen by one of our providers Mon. - Fri. from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Please note that these appointments are for non-emergent issues only; if you are having chest pains or difficulty breathing, always call 911 or go directly to the nearest emergency room. If ever in doubt as to whether your issue qualifies for an urgent walk-in appointment, feel free to call our offices at 513.271.5111.

Can laser hair therapy help my thinning hair?

Laser Hair Therapy (LHT) is a non-surgical, scientific approach to treating hair loss, thinning hair, and problems associated with the scalp. LHT is a medically tested and proven method using low level laser energy, or soft laser light to effectively treat and control problem hair loss.

Laser Hair Therapy provides stimulating laser energy that energizes the weakened follicle, including increased vascularization and an increase in cellular metabolism.

Laser energy has been demonstrated to increase the blood flow and circulation in the scalp. This increase in blood flow is crucial to promoting a healthy hair follicle as well as bringing important nutrients to the follicle, while taking away harmful waste products, such as DHT.

The hair follicle then has the building blocks and energy to transform from a weakened follicle to one that is healthy. The enhanced environment then, in turn, invigorates the hair follicle, which can now produce healthier hair, prevent further hair loss and stimulate the re-growth of hair. Thank you again for the opportunity to participate in your healthcare. We hope you will take advantage of the many resources available to you, and we look forward to serving you soon!

As always, we place great value on open communication with you. If you ever have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to contact us at 513.271.5111 or officeinfo@lisalarkinmd.com.
