Comprehensive Menopause Consultations - Now Being Offered by Dr. Larkin
Empowering Women through Evidence-based Education
|
With the ongoing research and debate surrounding the various menopause treatment options available today, many women have found they aren't receiving sufficient physician guidance and instead are relying on the media and other non-medical information sources for direction in managing their symptoms.
To help women better understand the scientific evidence behind the different treatment options-including hormone therapy-and make more educated decisions about their care, Dr. Larkin is now offering individual comprehensive menopause consultations. Certified by the nation's leading menopause organization-the North American Menopause Society-and specializing in midlife women's health issues, Dr. Larkin's consults offer personalized health assessments and evidence-based treatment plans to help women through the menopause transition.
While Dr. Larkin is not currently accepting new patients in her primary care practice, these individual consultations are available for women interested in supplementing their health-care routine with expert medical guidance for menopause management.

Questions About Adolescent Gynecology? |
Board-certified gynecologist Cindy Dellinger, MD, provides complete gynecology services to women of all ages. This includes age-appropriate care and treatment for adolescents-an age group that often requires sensitive and educational consultation.
The American College of Gynecology recommends girls have their first gynecological visit between the ages of 13 and 18. Dr. Dellinger's adolescent gynecology services include physical check-ups to ensure a healthy reproductive system; consultation on sex education to encourage safe behavior and answer any questions; and treatment of any symptoms associated with puberty, such as menstrual irregularities, cramps, and skin issues. Pelvic exams - the fear of which can often be a deterrent to establishing a relationship with a gynecologist - are not necessarily required. Additionally, Dr. Dellinger offers late hours on Thursdays (until 6 pm) to accommodate school schedules.
To schedule an appointment with Dr. Dellinger, please call 513.271.5111. Visit our website for more information.

Sometimes, Less Is More. Is Minimally Invasive Surgery Right for Me?
|
Chances are, you've heard of minimally invasive or laparoscopic surgery. You may even know someone who has had a form of laparoscopy. But what exactly does it mean, and is it right for you?
Minimally invasive surgery refers to any technique involved in surgery that does not require a large incision. It typically allows the patient to recuperate faster and with less pain, blood loss and scarring. For example, gynecologic surgical techniques considered minimally invasive include:
Laparoscopy: A test that uses a tube with a light and a camera lens at the end (laparoscope) to examine organs and check for abnormalities. Laparoscopy is often used during surgery to explore inside the body without making large incisions. Tissue samples may also be taken for examination and testing.
Hysteroscopy: A visual inspection of the cervical canal and uterine cavity with an endoscope.
Robotic-assisted surgery: Allows the surgeon to perform complex surgical procedures using the smallest of incisions with the help of a surgical "robot."
These days, everything from tubal sterilization to the removal of uterine fibroids and even hysterectomy can be performed through the use of minimally invasive techniques. Of course, there are instances when it isn't the best option; so talk to your doctor about the treatment option that is best for you. Learn more ...The Christ Hospital performs more minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries than any other hospital in the area. Find an Ob/Gyn who specializes in minimally invasive gynecological surgery by calling The Christ Hospital's physician referral line at 513-585-1000 or logging on to www.TheChristHospital.com/women. |
