Making the World a Better Place by Erica Ehm

There's a change in the air. Charitable gifting is the new black. A lot of money is sent overseas to the many who have so little, or invested here where need is great. By sharing our wealth, we make the world better. That's a given. But there's another way to give that has nothing to do with money.
For me, it's all about giving some 'tude. Sending a shout out to a friend who's down. Complimenting your kids when they don't expect it. Smiling at strangers. Calling your mother-in-law! My days are long, busy and stressful. When I'm on the receiving end of a random act of kindness, it's like a blast of sunshine on a freezing winter day. Sharing your "stuff" is important, but giving a little positivity into the universe it what makes life worth living.
Here's a beautiful bunch of articles written by mummies who get the meaning of giving and want to share their stories with you.

of the Reason We're on the Planet by Jacki Yovanoff

I firmly believe part of the reason we are here, on this planet we share with billions of others, is to make life better for at least some of its inhabitants. Here are some ideas on how to involve kids in making our planet a little better... Click for more... |

Family Is Who You Love by Karen Elliott

Last week, my son Ryan and I stood on the porch and waved goodbye to our latest foster child. As soon as the car disappeared from sight, Ryan turned to me and said "I can't wait to see who's coming to live with us next!"
Years ago, when we announced to our extended families we were going to be foster parents, there was a mixed reaction. Many parents that have their own biological children often worry about the impact fostering will have on their kids...

Erica has the added issue of a nut allergy in her home but the cry is still the same. Here's a breakfast recipe that will start your day off in a nutritious and healthy way and have your kids asking for more... Click for more... |
