 This email popped into my inbox from Stephanie C. in Calgary, AB. She wrote:
"Mom-preneurs, schmom-preneurs! What about us hard-working moms who work outside the home? What about those of us who are very successful at what we do - whether it be sales or management or HR? We bring balance to workplaces that have traditionally been old boys clubs! Don't forget about us because we're important too and all the articles I read are about mom-preneurs. I work 4 days/week in downtown Calgary and I work hard. I successfully manage 2 of our largest accounts and several other smaller accounts. Then I come home and make sure my twin boys have a homemade meal. Don't forget about the working moms!"
Stephanie, thanks for saying what so many hardworking moms are thinking. Work is a mom's middle name, be it working at home, from home or outside the home. Each has its own pressures and payoffs. My choice of working out of a home office comes with an assortment of ....ahem.... distractions and often dream of joining the old boys club and getting a "real job".
