I wanted to let you know about two different opportunities coming up!

 

 

Young Mozarts for Children Ages 2-5
We will have FREE Open House class on Thursday March 22, 9:15-9:55 am.  Attendance is free but an RSVP is required here: RSVP for Open House

Late Spring Session *NEW*
Ages 2-5, Thursdays 9:15-9:55am, April 5th through May 24th, 7 Classes, $85

Young Mozarts is a parent/child music class for young children ages 2 through 5.  Every class includes singing, movement, instrument exploration, listening skill development, rhythm study and much more.  This class is designed to be hands-on, engaging and fun for children and their parents.  Most classes also include a topic-specific art project.  This class is taught by Travis LaBerge - Founder of Parlando and a teacher with more than 12 years of experience teaching preschool music.

The First Annual Boulder Piano Gallery/Parlando Kawai Piano Competition
BPG and Parlando have teamed up to offer students another opportunity to perform/compete for judges.  This competition is designed for piano students practicing solo repertoire.  Interested students must perform 2 contrasting solo selections, appropriate to their age and ability level.  The competition will be broken down into 4 different age categories:

1) Kindergarden-3rd grade
2) 4th-6th grade
3) 7th-9th grade
4) 10th-12th grade

Dates and Location:
April 20th- divisions 3 and 4 (3:30-9pm)
April 21st- divisions 1 and 2 (9am-3pm)
*All auditions take place at Boulder Piano Gallery. If audition times for divisions 3 and 4 fill up on Friday, applicants may be given a Saturday time.

Cost:
$10 for divisions 1 and 2
$15 for divisions 3 and 4

Prizes and Honors Recital:
3 grand scholarship prizes per each division will be awarded: 1st place- $75, 2nd place- $50, 3rd place- $25.
Winners will also be invited to play in an honors recital on Sunday, April 22nd at 5pm at Boulder Piano Gallery.
Families will be notified the evening of the 21st after the competition is completed.

Applications can be found on the Parlando website as well as on the BPG website.  Applications should be sent to to Dr. Emily Book McGree at emily@parlado.org. Checks should be made out to Boulder Piano Gallery and sent to Paul Jarvis at Boulder Piano Gallery, 3111 Walnut Street, Boulder, CO, 80301.

Applications and checks must be received by April 11th and audition times will be emailed to all participants on April 13th.
