Hello Friends of Parlando,
In support of our mission to "share the language of music and the arts" we offer lessons on all school band and orchestra instruments as well as piano, voice, guitar and more. It's easy for new piano and voice students to come in to Parlando and try out a couple of trial lessons because we have many pianos and voice students carry their instruments with them at all times! It is more difficult, though, to give students trial lessons on band and orchestra instruments if they do not already have them. In an effort to reach more students, we are growing our instrument "petting zoo" as well as our instrument scholarship program. The petting zoo provides instruments for students to try at Parlando before committing to a rental or purchase. The instrument scholarship program provides instruments to dedicated students for whom the cost of renting or purchasing an instrument is prohibitive. If you have any gently used instruments in your home that you would like to donate, please let us know. If you have instruments that need repair but the cost of the repair is less than the cost of a new instrument, that helps too! And, since Parlando is a nonprofit organization, your donation may be tax deductible! While all instruments are appreciated, the instruments we are especially looking for are: Clarinet, Flute, Trumpet, 1/2-size Violin, 3/4-size Violin and 3/4-size Cello, Piano and Guitar.Thank you for your consideration and continuing support!
