Hello Friends of Parlando,
When talking with parents about lessons for their children I inevitably hear one of two comments. Either, "I've always wished I had learned to play an instrument," OR "I used to play an instrument when I was younger and wish I hadn't given it up." While I always tell people that it's never too late to learn/relearn how to play an instrument, the realities of busy schedules often get in the way of the commitment required for private lessons.
If you are someone who has always wanted to play piano - or wish that you hadn't ever given it up - but don't have the time to commit to private lessons, we have a new class for you! It's called
Recreation Music Making (RMM) and is a series of classes designed to provide a stress-free environment for adults to learn - or relearn - how to play piano. Studies have demonstrated the benefits of group piano programs for adults including greater memory retention and brain function, reduced stress and an improved quality of life.
If you've ever wanted to learn to play piano, pick up where you left off years ago or just help your child be able to practice at home, NOW is the time to start!
We have
FREE Open House classes on Thursday October 27th at 10am and 6pm. Each open house class is 45 minutes long and, while free, requires an RSVP/Reservation. Please RSVP at parlando.org or 303.442.0006 before October 21st.
Additionally, Parlando recently received an Adult Wellness Grant from the Piano Manufacturers Association International that will enable us to provide limited free tuition to selected adults students, regardless of their financial circumstances. If you are interested in this, please contact the Director of Parlando Piano & Keyboard Studio, Emily Book McGree, DMA at
emily@parlando.org or 303.442.0006.
Alternative OptionsIn addition to our new RMM classes, Parlando continues to offer special pricing for "Parent/Child Combo" lessons. We also offer an Adult Flute Choir class, Adult Jazz Combos, private lessons and will be introducing an Adult Singing Class during our Spring 2012 Semester.
