Hello Friends of Parlando,

Happy Spring!  We have a couple of reminders and some exciting updates to share with you:

Spring Break

The Parlando Offices will be closed for Spring Break.  There will be no group lessons or classes during Spring Break and private lessons will only be offered if you make special arrangements with your teacher in advance.  The office will reopen on Monday, March 28th with all group and private lessons beginning again on that day.

Summer Registration is OPEN!

Families have already started registering for Summer lessons, classes and camps at Parlando.  New this summer are camps with both morning and afternoon sessions (complete with supervision at lunch) for families looking for an "all-day" option at Parlando.  Also, please note that our Early Bird Discount for private lessons expires on April 30th.  Make sure to register before the 30th to get the best pricing for summer lessons.

New Funding from the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado

In February, Parlando received a $2,500 grant from the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado.  Half of this grant will be used to offset costs for a fundraising event we are holding in April and the other half is a matching funds challenge.  We are excited and grateful to the Gay & Lesbian Fund for their support of our mission and programming.

The following is a note about this grant:
The Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado believes that developing partnerships with nonprofits creates a deeper understanding that the fair and equal treatment of all people makes Colorado a more desirable place to live, work, and play. We support organizations like Parlando School for the Arts because they understand the value of inclusion and promote equality within their community. We work collaboratively with Colorado nonprofits, foundations, local government agencies, business owners, and individual allies to honor the diverse histories and experiences of Colorado's residents. Together, we build a better Colorado.

Over the last 15 years, the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado invested more than $24.8 million in hundreds of high-impact nonprofits. Our mission is to create a Colorado where everyone is treated equally, and with respect.

The Gay & Lesbian Fund believes that arts and culture programs are integral to a high quality of life. Fine arts and cultural awareness initiatives stimulate conversations, challenge stereotypes, and bridge diverse racial, ethnic, economic, religious, sexual, and cultural values and beliefs. Individuals and organizations across the state devote their energy to celebrating diversity and advancing equality for all Coloradans, and these efforts have a significant impact on the strength of our society.  In partnership with Parlando School for the Arts, the Gay & Lesbian Fund looks forward to a Colorado that celebrates and embraces our differences. Thank you for being a part of Parlando!

Best,
