Halloween Events in Massachusetts

As a child we thought for months in advance what we were going to be for Halloween.  All this so we could go out one evening, often in cold temperatures and rainy weather, to get buckets or pillowcases full of candy that we would either eat in two days or drag it out for a month.

Witches, ghosts and goblins are the things that we associate with the holiday.  In Massachusetts we have an even deeper link to the holiday with the History of the Salem Witch Hunt and Trials that occurred over 300 years ago.   Read More...

The city of Salem sees a consistent flow of tourists throughout the year but especially in the month of October.   There are a number of different events throughout the month.  If you are interested in ghosts...  Read More...

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

1 2/3 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 c. plain pumpkin
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease muffin cups (or use paper muffin cups).  Thoroughly mix flour, sugar, pie spice, baking soda, baking powder and salt in large bowl.

Break eggs in a separate bowl.  Add pumpkin and butter, and stir until well blended.  Mix this bowl in to the dry ingredients.  Then fold in the chocolate chips until batter is moistened.  Do not overblend.  Scoop evenly in to the muffin cups.

Bake for 20-25 minutes.  Cool on baking rack.

Enjoy immediately or store in freezer and microwave as needed.

Did You Know?

Free 411.  What is often the most costly line item on your cellular bill?  It usually is the directory assistance calls that I have to make when I am on the road.  If you do not mind a few advertisements when you call to get a number try 800-Free411 (800-521-1411).  You will not be charged for calling this number.  It only uses your minutes like any other call.  I have it saved under FREE 411.   Read More...

Thank you for allowing me to share a little something from Luna's with you.  Til next month...
