The Fayetteville Community Foundation (FCF) recently donated $5,000 to Seven Hills Homeless Center. FCF president & CEO Becky Brink, along with FCF Board Chair Jim Smith, presented Hugh Earnest, Interim Executive Director of Seven Hills Homeless Center, with a check to assist the shelter in providing needed services to the homeless in our community.
"Our Board of Directors sincerely appreciates this generous gift from the Fayetteville Community Foundation. The mission of Seven Hills is, at its core, a simple and compassionate effort to help those individuals in our society who have found it difficult to survive in our complex world. This gift was very timely in enabling us to meet our financial obligations," said Earnest.
In 2006, the Seven Hills Homeless Center registered over 20,000 guest visits, served 18,000 meals, provided more than 3,600 showers and arranged for a wide variety of professional case management and counseling services for more than 1,200 individuals.
"As the only homeless shelter in Fayetteville, Seven Hills Homeless Center has been providing much needed services to the homeless in our area since 2000. We are excited to support such a worthwhile organization," said Smith.
The Fayetteville Community Foundation (FCF) helps people find the best way to make charitable gifts to support our community. Established in November 2004, the Foundation is a non-profit philanthropic organization. FCF provides financial and administrative services to individuals, corporations, professional advisors, and non-profit organizations with the goal of enriching the quality of life in Fayetteville and surrounding communities. Since 2003, the Foundation has grown to $1.5 million in assets and has awarded over $375,000 in grants.
