The Musée d'Art Haïtien Support Committee of New York is selling the catalog that accompanied the Louvre's exhibit of paintings by Hector Hyppolite as a fundraiser to help restore the paintings of the Musée d'Art Haïtien that were damaged by the earthquake. The limited edition hardcover volume written in French consists of 150 pages with more than 25 color photos of Hyppolite's work plus many of his veves. POP-UP GALLERY IN JULY & AUGUST
We will open a pop-up gallery in the Oak Park Arts District for six weeks this summer featuring our non-Haitian collections. We will be including our African and Latin American masks, works on paper from Cuba and Africa, Maasai beadwork, textiles from a variety of places and much more. All of the prices will be significantly discounted. None of our Haitian pieces will be included in the sale.
The pop-up gallery will be located at Gallery Pink, 149 Harrison Street, in Oak Park, Illinois. The gallery will open Thursday, July 19, and will close on Sunday, August 26. Our hours will be Thursdays through Sundays, 1-5 p.m. and by appointment. We will be open until 9 p.m. on Third Fridays in the arts district on July 20 and August 17.
Many of the pieces to be featured in the pop-up gallery are posted on our website, but the prices on the site will not reflect the discounted prices. Starting July 19 you may call, email or text us for the discounted prices.
