Google Love: Is it Blind?

When it comes to getting search engines like google to fall in love with your business, it pays to know two things:love is blind
  • Google LOVES pictures, but Google literally can't 'see them' - it only reads text.
  • Google LOVES you for your credibility.

For a more powerful 'Google Love Story' of your own, follow these simple steps.

1. Feed Google (all search engines, really) pictures it can 'see.'

Every picture you can put on a website is a 'love letter' to google if it has a deliciously flirty name, crafted from the morsels that google craves most - 'keywords' average users are actually typing into their searches.  Try using their 'online dating tool' (aka: search window) to match your picture's content to search engines' cravings.  It's simple - try making different pairings of the word 'wedding' and anything else, and let their 'auto-suggest' tool do the rest.  Like so:

google search

Then, on your website and on any site that displays your pictures, find out how to give each picture its own title. Only when you add a title to an image can any search engine give you credit for it. No image title? No 'Photo Search Love' for your business. Bet you can 'see' the difference in these two picture titles:
  • img_4110_1682
  • garden wedding reception table decor ideas

2. Put your name in places google and other search engines care about.

Search engines like to find company names in credible places, especially when they're surrounded by words their customers are using. Do a good job of this, and google rewards you with much higher search rankings. Ah, search love is so sweet!

Google counts businesses mentioned on PerfectWeddingGuide as 'hugely interesting' because our site scores highly for 'longevity' and 'content.' What's more, being 'mentioned' PLUS having an 'outbound link' on our site is doubly 'juicy' to a search engine as it says we've selected you to be 'of interest'. This boosts your overall credibility.

After noting that your business appears on our site, and that we 'link out' to your site, Google proceeds to check the words in closest proximity to your business name. It loves finding the 'magic words' its users are looking for, like 'garden wedding...,' above. You can work wonders for your business' organic search ranking by choosing to feature photos that showcase what your prospects are searching for by adding live text titles to each image (note: words that are saved within JPEG photos are 'dead' and don't count - because Google can't 'see' anything inside your pictures).

Most businesses don't know how easy it is to gain the credibility they deserve with search engines. Your Perfect Wedding Guide Online Profile gives you the opportunity to display multiple photos - impressing local brides AND search engines alike with a savvy one-two punch!

Forbes Re-Imagining a Magazine

As Digital Media Marches On

forbes

How do you re-architect a magazine like Forbes in a digital era? How should a print product relate to a Web site, or tablet apps, or other digital products? How do you approach print design in a digitally obsessed universe?

You do exactly what Perfect Wedding Guide has already done. You redesign your print product to reflect the design, organization, and content of the internet.
  • Bringing the Power of the Internet to the Longevity of Print:We reshaped and changed the cover concept to a more clean design.
  • We simplified the magazine's overall interior design to reflect the look and feel of the web.
  • The content flow has been revamped so brides receive quality content in a more efficient manner.
  • We are focusing on local content (like our Spotlight Weddings and Ask The Experts) so our advertisers can form relationships with their audience (brides) in a more meaningful way.
  • We designed our products (print and website) to be aesthetically pleasing and accessible through multiple devices with the use of Microsoft Tags. We are the first in our industry to interconnect our advertisers with brides directly on their digital devices.
If it's good enough for Perfect Wedding Guide and now good enough for Forbes. How about you? Are you prepared to do what it takes to bring your company to the forefront in today's wedding industry and to today's brides?

Contact Gail Galloway at 336-676-9631 or gail@pwg.com, it's that easy. We've done all the hard work for you.

Kind Words

I love all the energy of this show.  It was my first show and ya'll made me feel so welcomed!  I really appreciated the guys bringing water to our booth.  The food was great and the vendor break room was nice. I like the layout.  It is much nicer than with the shows with the long curtains.

Your Wedding Wish Tree

I liked the number of brides, layout and quality of vendors. The layout is excellent.  Traffic flow was very good after enough brides came in the large ballroom. I think the number was fantastic and the quality appeared to be very good.

Great numbers and the set up was good.

I always like that you set very clear time lines and expectations for the vendors. I also like the hospitality suite for the vendors. Your energy is awesome you really set the tone for an upbeat event! I thought the number of brides we spoke to was excellent. I've already done my follow up and we have 2 consultations booked one tonight and one Fri.! Both getting married in Oct 2011. That's a phenomenal turnaround time.
Monica Bass
Bedford Blooms

I LOVED having the brides get all of the vendor initials. That way everyone came by. What a good idea! I appreciated the fact that you limited the number of types of vendors. The traffic flow was terrific. I was pleased with the booth layout as well and think it was aesthetically pleasing.  Frankly, I was reluctant to do this show as the last one I did was an expense with not one booking. I am, however, looking forward to booking some brides from this show as there were a number of them who actually needed my services!
