Head Shot of GennyWhy do we support ministries such as More than Music? Because God is using this ministry to touch the hearts and lives of people in need. Because God calls us to come around and support His servants. Because they are doing what we can't do.

It is truly miraculous what has been accomplished through More than Music to date, given the relatively small band of faithful, private, financial supporters we have. This has been due to God's faithfulness and grace. It has also been due to the many sacrifices made by Stephanie Pauline and her family. Stephanie has worked more than full-time for many years and has waived her salary since this nonprofit was founded in 2003 to commit more funds to the work of MtM. We can do so much with so little! Still realistically speaking, for More than Music, Inc. to move to the next level of service, MtM needs $1,700 a month in base donor support. We currently have a shortfall of $1,100 in committeed monthly donations.

Are you prompted in your spirit to join with the other partners called to support this ministry?

Happy Thanksgiving!

First of all, there is a concert tonight for all my COLORADO peeps!  Check out the link on the events section for details.

As I, Stephanie Pauline, type this to you my husband is working hard on the oil fields in North Dakota.  My son is in the next room eating his breakfast cereal and my daughter is giving her Momma a little time to work while she watches Author.  My in-laws are driving back to their home from Great Grandma Ruth's house.  My brother-in-law Luke, is giving his best with his fellow soldiers in Afganistan. My parents, I know, are busy getting food on their table while my aunt and uncle gather round with them for their annual day after thanksgiving feast. :)  I am so thankful for my family.  For their health.  For this moment.  This breath I have.  For you.  For this work.  For music!  And for all that is behind it that makes it SO MUCH MORE than MUSIC too.  This year I am overflowing with thanksgiving!

I hope you are too. Even if this year has brought you hardship.  Sometimes...I have found, even when life is painful, reducing one's list of thank yous to the simple, small things can help a person find the grace to endure with a little deposit of joy kept snug and safe inside one's heart.  There have been times when that was my salvation.  One breath and step at a time.  Each moment is a gift.  YOU are a gift.  It is good to give thanks!  Our hearts were made for worship and joy!  I want nothing less for you.

  • More than Music received the first thousand copies of the new release by Stephanie Pauline (pictured below). When the Smoke Clears, her premier duo recording project with Joe Uveges is making it's impact in the music industry. It's country flair has given it a different market than Stephanie Pauline's flagship recordings to date. We are excited to see where this goes! Lot's to do to get this project into the hands of the masses. Already ordering another thousand though so we have a pretty good start.

First look at the New CD CD COVER

  • Stephanie did a radio interview for Pathway Ministries on 100.7 KGFT.  She performed a benefit concert for Mission Medical Clinic with Joe Uveges in Colorado Springs helping to raise money and awareness for their cause.
  • We raised $4000 for the web overhaul with much thanks to close, personal friends and supporters of MtM. The web site overhaul well underway now and should be completed and live by the years' end!  It will help lead the way into the future - and better communicate the heart and team effort of More than Music.

From the Heart by Stephanie Pauline

Gratitude.  When I led worship at a Church in Oakdale MN for a couple years, one of my favorite songs was all about thanking God.  I chose it for my set of songs time and time again.  It is entitled "It Is Good".  The words are simple, and they are set to a sort of ethnic mirambi kind of beat.  "It is good - It is good - It is good - To give thanks to the Lord our God - To Sing of His faithfulness - and loving kindness both day and night - To play on our instraments sweet songs of praise for the things you do - It is good - It is good - It is good to give thanks to you."  That's a song I do believe by Dan and Sandy Adler.

Even recounting the words for you brings back an overwhelming sense of joy. I remember that I would practically be dancing as I sang.  I couldn't help myself.  Sure, I was a struggling single mom, and had plenty to be stressed about I suppose. Still I found that this song best carried my heart.  It goes on in the verses to recount why we should praise God - Because He forgave us.  It goes on to say WHEN we should praise Him - ALL THE TIME.  The Bible instructs us to praise God over and over.  The word "praise" is used in the Bible 340 times.  "Worship" is used in the Bible158 times.  The word "love" is used 551 times. (Must be important.) The word "pray" - 121 times, and "sing" - 122 times.  So what's my point?  It's this - we were made to rejoice.  To praise our creator.  To commune with Him and one another through heartfelt thanksgiving.

I remember, as I was still coming back to God, thinking God must be quite an egomaniac to tell us to "praise His name" time and time again.  THEN I began to learn about WHO God really is.  I began to be healed as I found myself LOVED immensely in spite and even in my need.  Suddenly "praise" bubbled up from the inside and as I gave myself to it, I discovered what I never knew I always knew from the start.  I AM MADE FOR PRAISE!  I AM MADE FOR GLORY!  I AM MADE FOR JOY!  I AM MADE FOR POWER!  I AM MADE FOR LOVE!
And YOU ARE TOO!!!!

One of my new favorite worship songs says it this way, Listen HERE!

God in my hoping-There in my dreaming-God in my wathcing-God in my waiting-God in my laughing-There in my weeping-God in my hurting-God in my healing

Christ in me-Christ in me-Christ in me-the hope of glory-You are everything- Christ in me-Christ in me-Christ in me-the hope of glory
Be my everything

You are everything-Jesus, Everything

It's a funny thing about the heart.  As complex as it may seem it can only feel so much at one time.  When you praise God and turn your heeart to thanksgiving (even for the littlest things) all the bad stuff - the resentment, pain, and cloud of doubt is drained away and you are left with this indescribably pure light; a new, beautiful sense of strength.

God is here in it with us, whatever we're going through, and where God is - there is GLORY.  As you give yourself over to PRAISE and thanksgiving find what you never knew you always knew from the start.  YOU ARE MADE for PRAISE!

In Closing

Thank you. For letting me be a small part of your world. For caring about the work of More than Music. There is much still to be done. There is world in need at our door and it is a part of our joy and glory to give to that need. We can make a difference here! One smile. One kindness. One step. One breath. One life at a time.

With love,

Stephanie Pauline
