Dear Friends,

I like to keep this quote in mind every time a book is donated to the store. Each donation to, purchase from, and hour spent at Open Books is a step toward supplying our students with the skills and encouragement they need to write that book they have always wanted to read.  

Supporting our city's youth with the means to express themselves is just one of the causes for celebration this month.  As Open Books turns 5 this May, we are celebrating our members, hosting our first annual bookcase decorating event, and gearing up for the Printers Row Lit Fest!

We also know many of you have started moving, cleaning, and reorganizing this month. The team here at the store is eager to help by not only accepting the gently used books you've decided to part with, but also offering a 20% discount on all books in our Home, Garden, and Art categories to help you with your Spring projects. Come celebrate with us!

Summer Storytime!

 Have you checked in lately at Read All About It, the Open Books blog? There, you'll find the latest information on Open Books' literacy programs, events, store donations and discounts, news, and literary-themed fun!

Lizzy, our Bookstore Coordinator, blogs about recent donations in a series called Out of the Box.  And lately, our donations bins have been rife with exceptionally eccentric books and terrific rare editions!
