Dear Open Books friends,

Ahhh!  Do you smell that?  The sweet but sour smell of fresh cut grass! The smoky scent of the neighbor's grill! Freshly picked vegetables stacked high and proud at your local farmers' market!

Summer is here! Let us enjoy the great outdoors of Chicago with good friends as much as possible, because we all know what our friends will be saying when winter comes again. With the dawning of this most celebratory season, there is no better way to enjoy our time with friends and family than to cook an incredible meal. That's why the Open Books Store is offering 20% off of all books in our Food and Cooking section during the month of June!  It also doesn't hurt to pick up a great read for those perfect restful moments under your favorite tree in the park!

Also, don't forget dear ol' Dad, whether he is manning the grill or resting comfortably on the porch. The Store has plenty of great gifts for Father's Day on June 20!

Thanks for reading and supporting literacy with us.

First-Annual, Half-Year, HALF-OFF Sale!

June marks the halfway point of another great year. It is especially great due to the fact that it is the Open Books store's first full year in business.  Your support and patronage has been amazing and we'd like to show our appreciation!

Please join us during the weekend of June 26-27 for our first-ever Half-Year Half-Off Sale! Every used book will be discounted 50% (with the exception of Rare and Autographed volumes... but make us an offer!).

Don't miss your chance to stock up on your summer reads for a fraction of the price you would pay anywhere else -- and to support literacy at the same time!
