The 2012 Pirate Party With Florida Agricultural Commissioner, Adam Putnam

Byerly The Pirate
Wrong-Way Byerly

The ACREC's Pirate Party (fish fry) will be held on Saturday, June 23rd from 2:00 P.M. on.  We will have some great food, great entertainment and great friends.  Florida's Commissioner of Agriculture, Adam Putnam, will be joining us at this spectacular summer event.  Most of our County and Congressional candidates will be in attendance, as well.  Come and meet your candidates.

It will be held at the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department, at the crossroads of County Road 234 and County Road 1474.  From Gainesville, Take 39th Avenue east and turn right on CR 234, then head several miles, straight to Windsor.  You can also take Hawthorne Road from Gainesville and trun left onto CR 234 and head several miles straight to Windsor.

So why do we call it a "Pirate Party?"  It's in honor of the liberal county commissioners who have, for years, taxed us into oblivion (like Captain Wrong-Way Byerly, pictured above).

This is a summer fundraiser for the Alachua County Republican Party.  Tickets for adults are $25 and tickets for children are $10.

Tickets are on sale at our online store.

County Commission Considering New Taxes

The Alachua County Commission is considering whether or not to add two taxes to the fall ballot for roads and bus rapid transit.

At the April 24th meeting, the Alachua County Republican Executive Committee overwhelmingly passed a resolution opposing new taxes.
If you think you have been taxed enough already and the county should reprioritize its spending, first, then please tell them.

If you believe that county government spending is already well priortized and are willing to pay more taxes for roads and transportation programs, then let them know that.
