Republican Meeting - Meet City Commission Candidates This Thursday
This Thursday, the Alachua County Republican Party is meeting at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge. The meeting starts at 7:00, and the main program will be to meet our Gainesville City Commission candidates, Darlene Pifalo and Donna Lutz and High Springs city commission candidate, Linda Gestrin.
Former Gainesville City Commissioner, Ed Braddy, will be leading a discussion with those candidates about the important issues facing Gainesville and High Springs citizens, including such issues as GRU, taxes, public safety, Ironwood, rural issues and more.

Poll At The Alachua Republican Website
 For a while, now, we have had a poll up at the Alachua Republican Website.
The poll question is, "Should The Taxing Three (Byerly, DeLaney and Long) be re-elected in 2012." Of course, we know that Rodney Long has announced that he is not seeking re-election, but we figured we would leave the question, as is, to gauge how people feel about the job they are doing.

Black Tie and Blue Jeans Roundup
The Ronald Reagan Black Tie and Blue Jeans BBQ was a great event, and there was a great turnout.
We had a great reception, hosted by Blue Water Bay, some great David's BBQ for dinner, and Burkhardt brought the beer wagon and donated 100 tickets to a Jacksonville Jaguar game for us to give away.
Thank you to all of the volunteers that pitched in, so hard, to help make this event happen.
Thank you to Adam Hasner for coming and giving a great speech, and thank you to Karen Harrington for coming and visiting. We wish her the best of luck in her quest to "Fire Debbie Wasserman Shultz"
