Next REC Meeting

The next ACREC meeting is August 25th at 7:00 P.M at 1210 North Main Street in Gainesville.

Paid political advertisement, paid for and sponsored by the Alachua County Republican Party, PO Box 358536, Gainesville, Fl  32635, independent of any candidate.

Rich, Annoying, Horrible People

To recap, in their crusade against the evils of the automibile, the liberals in Gainesville held a rigged bicycle vs. car challenge.  It was rigged to let the bicycle win.  In response, the Alachua County Republican Party held it's own, real world, Bike vs. Car Challenge. The car won.

Bike v. Car Challenge VM ScreenThe public response to our Bike vs. Car Challenge was overwhelming.  Conservatives participated in droves.  Thank you to all of you that sent route suggestions and told us about your daily routines.

The liberals participated, too, but they weren't so friendly about it.  Postings on local blogs, letters and editorials in newspapers and even voicemails to our headquarters tell us that the liberals didn't much care for us challenging their multi-modal dogma.

We had fun, though, and to be honest, watching the liberals go batty was quite the entertainment.  The funniest commentary of all was a voicemail we received at our headquarters; so we took it and made a little YouTube video out of it.  Click, here, or on the picture, above, to link to the video at our YouTube page.

The Gainesville Sun did a great articl on our challenge.  You can link ot it, here.

Sound System For Black Tie and Blue Jeans

Canterbury Equestrian Showplace is a great venue, but also a very challenging environment to set up a sound system for, and we have BTBJ Crowda great company and great partners in Tom Collett and TDC Entertainment in providing a great sound system and great, professional service.
Still, last year we got caught a little flat footed when Neal Boortz wanted to use a lapel microphone.  We just couldn't boost the sound enough without getting audio feedback.
For Ted Nugent, this year, the ACREC and TDC Entertainment are committed to making sure that we have the best sound system we have ever had.

Throughout his lengthy career, legendary guitarist, Ted Nugent, has reveled in the criticism that always seems to come from his patriotic straight-talk. While there's no denying his exceptional talent on the six-string, his knack for penning arena rock anthems, or his standing as one of rock's top live acts, it's his non-musical endeavors that have caused the most consternation from his detractors (his conservative beliefs and his 2nd Amendment advocacy). But by the same token, Nugent is a family man and one of the few hard rockers who has admirably stuck by his lifelong anti-drugs and anti-drink stance throughout his career.

Ted doesn't just limit himself to music and hunting, he's very outspoken when it come to other issues that hit close to home including politics, the Second Amendment and crime.

He's received the James Fenimore Cooper Award for his many accomplishments in the field of writing and for his amazing work promoting American hunting and outdoor heritage. His top rated show on Outdoor Channel, Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild, is the four-time winner of the People's Choice Best Hunting Show Golden Moose Award. The North American Hunting Club named Ted the #1 Hunt Partner and he's the winner of the first-ever ATV Image Award. It was presented to Ted by ATV Industry Magazine in 2004 for his commitment to outdoor life, hunting and recreation.

At 61, Ted has no plans of slowing down.  Ted's a loving husband to his wife Shemane and a devoted father to his daughters Starr and Sasha and sons Toby and Rocco.

As busy as he is, he's doing what he loves. Ted said it best, "I really have the American dream licked."
