Federal Trust Fund Contract

In 2009 Pyramid was awarded a $1.3 M contract  for the clean up of abandoned Underground Storage Tank sites in central North Carolina. The funds were provided as a part of the Federal Stimulus program through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).  The objective of this program was to provide fast, effective clean up of as many sites as funding would allow. Here are some of Pyramid's accomplishments:

  • We've completed environmental work on 36 project sites since November 2009
  • Pyramid's work from 2009-2010 resulted in 6 regulatory closures for these sites and four more will close in 2011
  • Pyramid Environmental has been responsive to the needs of the Federal Trust Program and has been reselected as a preferred vendor for over 10 years
Environmental Engineering News

Effective as of April 1, 2011 the North Carolina Department of Environment & Natural Resources has made a significant change to their Funding BAR of Commericial Incidents. The NCDENR Funding BAR is a scale of rankings for Leaking Underground Storage Tank sites that determine, based on their ranking, what type of funding they receive. They have lowered the Funding BAR for these specific commerical properties to Intermediate 150.  This action will allow the NCDENR  to take control of Commerical Incidents that score at or above the Intermediate 150 level. Additionally, the Free Product Funding Bar will be non-existent which means the NCDENR will be working on all commerical incidents with Free Product.
