Greetings!
10 Million Reasons To Use A Yes! Putter
  Yes! Golf Ball Roll Chart
You may have heard the announcers at the FedEx Cup/Tour Championship talk about the eventual winner's "$39 putter". It was a pretty cool story, he wandered into a store and found a used Yes! Sophia putter that he liked (a traditional heel weighted design) and put in play and won the $10 million dollar prize.

I've been selling Yes! putters just about since they started and they're a great group of people struggling to compete against the big boys in golf so it's nice to see them get a bit of recognition. They've had a lot of success (Retief Goosen first gave them serious name recognition after switching to one of their putters and winning the US Open with it) and have had a lot of victories both on the US, LPGA, and European Tour, where they are especially popular.

The C-Groove face design gets the ball rolling much sooner than any other design. I did their high speed film test at the PGA show and competing putters skip and bounce along for the first 18" or so, the C-Groove putters achieve forward roll after the first 3"-4". The sooner a ball achieves smooth forward roll, the better the line it will have and the less likely it is to be affected by aberrations in the green. In short, more putts will drop in (see ball roll chart above).

Here's the Yes! website with a listing of all of their models. http://yesgolf.com/store/models.php . Send me a note for a price quote. I can save you about 20% vs. buying direct from Yes! (for example, the Sophia Model used by the FedEX winner is $170 direct, I've got it for $139.95 with free shipping to celebrate the FedEx win).

Leather Gridiron Grips from Best Grips

Clubmaker Online sponsor Best Grips has a nifty new grip model to get you ready for football season. Their new handstitched leather gridiron grip is made from the same material as a football. Here's the info from Best Grips:

Did you ever hold a real pigskin football in your hands? If you have you would remember the tactile feel of the leather grain and the great guide for hand placement of the football lacing. The new Best Grips Gridiron Putter Grip not only has the look of a professional football but also gives you the same tactile feedback. When a quarterback gets his hands on a football he doesn't have to think or look at how he is holding the ball. His hands automatically feel for the lace and the balls shape and he instinctively places his hands in just the right spot to help him through a perfect spiral. Less thinking - more natural response!

Powerbilt Air Force One Component Head

Powerbilt has offered to let me sell their Air Force One driver heads as a component for a short time (while supplies last). Go direct to their web site to read about the assembled product. If you're interested in building one for yourself, send me a note for ordering directions. The price is $99.95 for the head.

I can get either the Tour or MOI model in most lofts shown on their site.

Hot Shots

Sounds like a safe bet that the winning Ryder Cup team will be playing a True Temper shaft. TT tells me that 12 of 12 players on both teams are playing True Temper products. I've had a mobile optimized web site for 3 years called Clubmaker.mobi. I'm working on updating it and adding more products and features. It loads faster and is design for web browsing on any mobile phone. Check it out at http://clubmaker.mobi . I can also register a .mobi domain for your business, optimize your web site for mobile browsing and offer hosting plans that start at $10 a month.

Final clearance on the Energy Cord grips. They were $10.99 each, I can get about 500 pieces at 75 cents each if you buy the remaining stock. http://clubmaker-online.com/energy.html for info on the grips, send me a note to buy the whole batch.

I'm in the middle of moving my office to a new location. I found a few boxes of Star Grips Tour model that are normally $3.99. Your price is $1.50 until I'm out. Send me a note for order instructions. Here's the info on the grip http://clubmaker-online.com/gs.tour.html . The Tour design doesn't taper as much as other grips and the material lasts a LONG time.

I received my first sample of the new senior driver I've been working on. It's purpose in life is to give seniors a bit more distance off the tee. The head is going to be lightweight at 193g, hot face (probably end up non-conforming for CT/COR), high quality 2 piece cast titanium head. Follow the link to the pictures and more information on the head, I think you'll like it a lot. Send me a note and I'll notify you when I've got finalized pricing and a ship date for you.

Aldila RIP
  Aldila RIP Golf Shaft
The new Aldila RIP shaft is now shipping. The RIP has been tearing it up on the PGA Tour since it's Tour introduction last year. I've updated my launch and spin chart at http://www.clubmaker-online.com/products/aldila.launch.html to include the new RIP . It's a nice chart showing how each piece of the Aldila shaft puzzle fits in comparison to one another. Looks like the RIP fits in the low spin/mid-low launch zone, great for you heavy hitters and rainmakers looking to bring your ball trajectory down a bit. I've got it in my R9 and it doesn't look like it's going to be kicked out of the bag any time soon. I've had some great long drives with it but I especially like the control and feel I get with it.

I specialize in Taylormade and R9 reshafts (including the latest models). I use a high quality aftermarket sleeve and your new shaft will arrive ready to be installed in your R9. Send me a note for a price quote. In about two weeks I'll be adding a Cobra sleeve to reshaft the latest Cobra drivers, watch for further information here. If you like doing your own clubmaking work, I'd be happy you choose the right shaft, too.

Nike, Adams, Nickent, Maxfli-Cheapo Depot

Sent out my first Cheapo Depot newsletter last week. Cheapo Depot subscribers get first shot at any super specials I might stumble across, I'll follow up to the rest of the group a week or so later. If you'd like to subscribe to the Cheapo Depot list, send me a quick note and I'll update your profile so you receive both the Clubmaker Report and Cheapo Depot newsletter.
