March 2008 The Clubmaker Report
Energy Grips

Just picked up a new grip line for my Grip Science catalog. Here's the information on this exciting new line of shock and vibration absorbing grips: Patented technology developed at the University of Texas features an innovative, proprietary design that solves the problem of harmful shock and vibration. Strategically placed longitudinal cavities, or "air pockets", provide a distinct advantage to golfers of all skill levels. The "air pockets" create radial ribs which in turn allow torsion to be isolated providing an unparalleled vibration energy dissipation system. A combination of the outside of the grip or "mass" and the radial ribs, create the dampening mechanism. By placing evenly spaced receptacles in the grip, we have determined that more vibration is released through the system, rather than into a player's hands or arms. In addition, Energy Grips remain traditional in player "feel" and "feedback". · Independent lab tests prove a 60% or greater vibration reduction compared to the leading grip. · Reduces vibration felt in the swing by dissipating shock experienced through impact. · Reduces the effect of "bad shots". · Increases feeling of control with crisp impact that preserves the feel of each swing. · Lessens fatigue that results from repetitive vibration.
Geek Golf DCT Heads Now in Stock

The Geek Golf DCT head was used by the winner of this years Remax Open Division Long Drive Championship. It also earned a special mention in the 2008 Golf Digest Hot List. Available as a component or assembled product with your choice of just about any shaft made. Choose from new shafts from Aldila (DVS), Matrix (Xcon), Fujikura (Rombax Z), Mitsubishi Rayon (Whiteboard, Javln), SK Fiber, Graman (Chrome Limey), Accra (AXIV), Grafalloy (Epic), Graphite Design (YSQ), and the "Whup n Shaft" from House of Forged. The 50" longdrive Whup n Shaft was used with the DCT head by the Open division winner and they've designed a 46" model for those of use with less than longdrive champion swingspeeds.

The DCT (DOT COM THIS) is a forged head with a proprietary weight added directly behind the ball in the rear of the club skirt. The club head also features an integrated energy power slot on both sides of the head to compliment the weighting power bulge in the rear of club. The DOT COM THIS is designed to decrease spin off the club head and as such will launch the ball lower than the stated loft. For slower swing speed players, pick a loft higher than you would normally play. The resulting ball flight will be more boring with a flatter trajectory and more roll!
