I've set up the pages with specs/prices and
pictures of the new JavLN FX shafts from
Mitusubishi. Here's the information on the
new shafts, link is below. JavLn shafts
shipping in about two weeks, free shipping to
lower 48 for pre-orders now thru February 14.
Mitsubishi Rayon has introduced a new tour
level shaft series called the JAVLN. I'm
excited to try this new shaft as it's
supposed to have a similar firm tip profile
to the $300 Diamana Whiteboard (JAVLN is
slightly softer) with a somewhat stiffer butt
profile (and it's priced at $150). Here's the
information from Mitsubishi: Available in
woods, irons, and hybrid, the MITSUBISHI
RAYON JAVLN Series offers a powerful blend of
distance, feel, and accuracy. The JAVLN
Series has been designed to help players
achieve an optimal combination of carry and
roll, maximizing today's next generation club
head technology. In order to meet the
performance needs of today's more demanding
players, the Mitsubishi Rayon JAVLN Series
utilizes a specialized carbon fiber called
TRH50. Designed by Mitsubishi Rayon, TRH50 is
a proprietary fiber with a higher modulus of
elasticity than similar fibers in the same
category. By selectively utilizing TRH50 in
conjunction with intermediate and high
modulus fibers, we have created a shaft that
is more responsive. The end result is a
product engineered to deliver tour caliber
performance utilizing Mitsubishi Rayon's
industry leading materials and design techniques.
The MITSUBISHI RAYON JAVLNFX Wood Shaft features a stable tip-section without sacrificing responsiveness or feel. The JAVLNFX delivers outstanding performance and the stability required by today's more demanding player. The JAVLN wood is available in 60/70/80 gram weight classes (63/71/78g in stiff). Price is $150. The JAVLN hybrid is available in 70 and 90 gram weight classes and is 42" and in the mid 3 deg. torque range (depending on weight/flex). Price on the hybrid is $90. The JAVLN iron is 80 grams and 3.2 torque with a mid kick point. Price is $60 each, installation labor starts at $25. |

Harrison is introducing a new shaft called
the Saga. Here's what Harrison has to say
about the new shaft:
It's engineered to be an idea complement to
the popular high MOI drivers. Its low torque
tip not only reduces ball spin, but alos
stabilizes a clubhead that generates higher
ball speed. Its mid flex point gives the ball
an optimal trajectory to maximize overall
distance. To top it off, the shaft uses a
low-twist geometry that keeps the shot
dispersion to a minimum.
.335 tip, 3.5 t, 65g, 46" mid flex point in
A,R,S flex and in a 75 gram model in A, R,
S, and X flex. Priced right at $45.
The new Harrison Saga is shipping in a week or two, send me a quick email for ordering information. |

Word is starting to get out on the new Matrix
shafts for 2008. F6M2 is a slightly lighter
version of the F7M2 that is so popular on
Tour. Low launch/low spin, price is $450.
HM2 hybrid is 110g 2.2 t, low launch, low
spin hybrid shaft, final pricing to come.
XCon8 HB is 80g, 2.8t, high launch and low
spin. Pricing to come on this model, too.
Studio 64 HB and Studio 84 HB will fill in the excellent Studio line of woods from Matrix. Priced at $60 each. Looking at a mid-March ship date on all of these. |

3M has settled on a version of their greptile
grip and it's a great combination rubber and
3M greptile material for a balance of feel
and grip. Try a greptile grip strip on the
palm of your golf glove for an excellent rain
grip (greptile glove on greptile grip is
non-conforming, though. I use it in foul
weather at the range/course when no sane
person would be playing anyway)
Other unique grips at my Grip Science site include the Royal Sandwrap (.580, ribbed, special gold logo Japanese version), Feel reverse taper grips, and the excellent Star grip series. |
